About the Role:

Churches of Christ Queensland are currently seeking 2 cooks, 1 full time 38 hours a week and 1 part time for 22.5 hours a week for our Little Mountain Aged Care Service. This role will see you working within our site assisting with food handling, food preparation and basic cooking duties as well maintaining a clean kitchen environment and basic record keeping.

About You

Are you someone who is up for a new challenge and to be part of a dedicated aged care team, using your cooking expertise to create meal experiences that nourish not only the body but also provide emotional comfort and a sense of home for elderly residents?

Our ideal candidate has:

Essential:

• Proven experience in commercial food preparation and cooking
• Has a strong knowledge of safe food hygiene practices and kitchen safety
• Currently holds, or willing to obtain a current Police Check
• Hold valid Australian Work Rights - Unfortunately we are not currently able to sponsor

Desirable:

• One years' experience as a commercial cook
• Experience with supervising and training junior kitchen staff and trainees
• Confidence in communicating with supervisor and suppliers
