The Position

An opportunity has arisen for a reliable and experienced HR Driver to join our team. At the moment we are looking for skip bin drivers (day shift, hours starting at 6am) and hook lift drivers (afternoon shift, hours between 2pm and 12am). Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Operate truck within manufacturers guidelines, the training manual, competency assessment and the relevant SWMS.
  • Liaise with clients on site regarding accessing or location of bin placement.
  • Waste tracking forms must be completed when requested on run sheets.
  • Make sure bins are delivered safely and avoid potential damage or injury to others.
  • Understand and be willing to carry out daily requirements as requested by Manager.
  • Ensure visual site hazard assessments are completed before, during and after dropping off or picking up bins.
  • Ensure all bins are placed appropriately and are safely secured on truck.
  • Maintain truck to a high level of service and cleanliness. Remove rubbish daily.
  • Perform daily pre-start safety and maintenance checks.
  • Report truck or equipment faults to the Operations/General Manager promptly and online.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and submit to scheduler on a daily basis.
  • Develop a working knowledge and understanding of the truck and equipment. Use with due care and in a proper and responsible manner.
  • Follow directions from Managers and be willing to undertake what they require.
  • Comply with company and client specific policies and procedures.
  • Is accountable for own performance and results and will identify and evaluate alternatives to problems to ensure completion of tasks.
  • Visual inspection for prohibited items in bins such as tyres, paints, asbestos etc. Do not remove non-conforming products.

Requirements for the Position

In order to be successful in this position, you will need to have:

  • A current and valid Heavy Rigid (HR) licence with a minimum of 2 years driving experience.
  • Positive attitude and desire for continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work autonomously for extended periods of time
  • Professionalism in representing the company to key stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
