QC Inspector

Based at our Head Office in Malaga, Perth and reporting to the Senior Manufacturing & Quality Engineer, the QC Inspector and Expeditor will be responsible for ensuring quality control through inspection, compliance verification ad expediting processes to support DIFOT requirements.

About the Role

• Provide technical guidance, support and expediting services for manufacturing, supply and logisitics activities in conjunction with relevant Transmin and Transmin client requirements
• Provide inspection services where required on local and international suppliers, ensuring compliane with relevant Transmin, Australian and International Quality Standards
• Support, review and/or prepare relevant technical documentation including manufacturer data reports (MDR), inspection test plans (ITP), non-destructive test (NDT) requests, weld procedures (WPS), weld maps, welder qualifications, visual paint inspection reports etc when required
• Issue non-conformance and rectification notices on fabrication and supply partners as required, mitigating impact to cost, quality and on time delivery
• Assist in the development and issue of technical documentation to be provided to manufacturing and supply partners which ensures standards of quality, cost and on time delivery

About You

• Relevant qualifications in quality assurance/control, welding inspection (e.g. CSWIP 3.1 or WTIA Cert 10 or AWS/CWI) and/or procurement/vendor management or similar
• NACE Level 2, Desirable
• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) desirable
• Minimum 5 years in a similar (Fabrication/Mechanical) quality control, inspection and/or vendor management role
• Welding and welding inspection
• High level of attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds
• Developed negotiation skills
• High mechanical aptitude and detailed sound general understanding of industrial engineered equipment manufacturing/fabrication processes
• Detailed report writing skills
• Effective time management skills
• Ability to travel without restrictions
