Salary: $103,799 – $118,441 + generous leave and salary packaging benefits

About the Role
We're seeking two passionate Community Lawyers – Generalist to join our multidisciplinary team. This role involves delivering holistic legal services across a range of practice areas, including family violence, civil law, and community legal education. As part of the role you'll work closely with health and social service professionals through innovative models like Health Justice Partnerships.

Providing legal advice, casework, and advocacy for disadvantaged clients.
Representing clients in Geelong and Colac Magistrates' Courts (Family Violence Duty Lawyer Service).
Participating in community legal education and outreach programs.
Contributing to law reform and policy initiatives addressing systemic issues.
Collaborating with health and social service providers to improve client outcomes.

Victorian Community Legal Centre Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2024–2027 (MEA) Level 5 or 6 salary dependant on experience
Five weeks annual leave + 3 bonus leave days over Christmas/New Year

Key Selection Criteria
Admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in Victoria with eligibility for a current practicing certificate.
Minimum of 2+ years post-admission experience, with demonstrated expertise across diverse areas of law.
Proven ability to support clients in dispute resolution processes; prior appearances in the Magistrates' Court and advocacy experience at VCAT preferred.
Understanding of trauma-informed practice and commitment to social justice principles.
Demonstrated capacity for resourcefulness with an ability to manage competing and complex work priorities
Location
Based at our Belmont office, with outreach across Geelong and Colac.
