We are seeking a Groundskeeper and Farmhand to join our Facilities and Grounds team to actively contribute to the overall presentation of our School Grounds.

About the Role:

This role is pivotal in ensuring that our outdoor spaces and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards, reflecting the excellence we strive for in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance the school's gardens, lawns, and outdoor areas, including mowing, pruning, and planting.
  • Conduct routine inspections and perform general maintenance tasks across school facilities.
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are serviced and stored appropriately.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to plan and execute maintenance schedules.
  • Support the setup and pack-down of school events and activities.
  • Adhere to all Work Health and Safety (WHS) protocols to ensure a safe environment for students and staff.
  • Feeding, watering and monitoring animal health
  • Mustering, handling, and moving stock safely
  • Assisting with animal husbandry tasks (drenching, vaccinating, marking, etc.).

Our ideal Candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or general maintenance, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Sound understanding of grounds maintenance, irrigation, pest control, and lawn/sports field care
  • Ability to operate, maintain and store a range of tools and machinery safely (e.g. ride-on mowers, line trimmers, blowers, pressure washers)
  • Competency in safe driving practices and license to drive a bus (desirable but not essential)
