Qualified Chef

We are looking for an experienced Full-time chef to join our team at Rubika Cafe&Bar located in the heart of Hawthorn

In addition to cooking during busy service and organise all the prep, you will be required to fulfil the following responsibilities

• Design seasonal menu (we have rotating weekly specials)
• Assist head chef with preparation of High Tea and brainstorm new ideas
• Manage, motivate, lead and develop our small kitchen team
• Delegate the tasks to the kitchen staff and communicate with the wait staff on daily specials
• Maintain a high standard of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness in accordance with company standards
• Inspect raw and cooked food items to guarantee the highest quality products are prepared and served to customers
• Manage food costs and supplier management to budget
• Monitor Labor cost
• Manage and maintain ordering of stock and produce
• Implementation of health and safety procedures in the kitchen
• Collaborate with management to align kitchen operations with the overarching goals of the company

Job Requirements and necessary experience

• Qualified Chef or equivalent with a minimum of one years experience within a fast paced environment
• Australian qualification of Certificates III and IV in Commercial Cookery or positive Trade Skill Assessment
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with restaurant staff and management
• Detailed knowledge of health and safety standards
• Excellent communication skills (good English language skills are a must have)
• Flexible availability across weekdays, weekends and public holidays

We are offering attractive Annual Salary $77,500 + Super
