Senior Network Engineer

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer, implementation, and optimisation of complex enterprise network environments. This role will be central to ongoing network modernisation, migration, and reconfiguration initiatives, ensuring secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, and maintain enterprise network architectures across multiple data centres and cloud environments.
  • Lead end-to-end network migration and transformation projects, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Configure and manage network security appliances, particularly FortiGate firewalls, including policy management, VPNs, and threat protection.
  • Manage and optimise Cisco switching and routing infrastructure, including BGP, VPN, and both static and dynamic routing configurations.
  • Implement and manage advanced network monitoring and alerting tools to ensure performance and uptime.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, architecture diagrams, and configuration baselines.
  • Collaborate with security, cloud, and infrastructure teams to align network strategy with overall enterprise architecture.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues and mentor junior engineers in best practices.

Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in enterprise network design, architecture, and operations.
  • Proven expertise with FortiGate firewalls, Cisco switching and routing, and BGP/VPN configurations.
  • Strong background in network migrations, modernisation, and infrastructure uplift.
  • Hands-on experience with network monitoring and performance tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.

Certifications (desirable):

  • Fortinet NSE (4-7 preferred)
  • Cisco CCNP or CCIE
