We're excited to welcome a Clinical Measurement Scientist to deliver Respiratory and Sleep Clinical Measurement clinical services as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health, in accordance with the goals, policies and requirements of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS).

The Respiratory and Sleep laboratories are based at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, with staff working across both disciplines and providing services at multiple sites within the health service area. Services are operationally supported through the Clinical Investigation Unit, which is a collection of clinical measurement disciplines including Respiratory, Sleep, Cardiac, Neurophysiology and Vascular Sonography.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide core clinical services including complex lung function testing and a range of overnight sleep studies as part of the multi-disciplinary Respiratory and Sleep team.


• Demonstrate competent knowledge, expertise and skill in the provision of Respiratory and Sleep Clinical Measurement services commensurate with level of experience in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, existing evidence-based practice and established clinical protocols.

• Apply clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making under the clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician.

• Participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve patient/client care, including the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within the work environment.

Remuneration value up to $ p.a., comprising salary rates $ $58.59 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP3) (part time position, 72 hrs p.f.).
