Maintenance Manager FIFO

The Role

Are you a highly experienced Mechanic with strong Leadership Capability? Do you have the ability to oversee the servicing and maintenance of all fixed and mobile mechanical equipment? The Duties

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

• Plan, schedule, and perform routine maintenance and repairs on nominated equipment.
• Procure tools, parts, and consumables, prioritising sea freight over air freight.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimise downtime.
• Ensure maintenance aligns with manufacturer specifications, ESC requirements, and safety standards.

Processes, Systems & Reporting

• Report on equipment performance and issues as they arise.

• Utilise MEX to:

• Develop and implement maintenance strategies and schedules.

• Maintain accurate asset registers and maintenance records.
• Identify and implement system improvements and new procedures.
• Report on nominated KPIs (e.g. availability, MTBF, MTTR, costs, downtime).
• Compile and submit monthly reporting requirements

Flexibility & Teamwork

• Adapt to changing priorities and demonstrate flexibility across a range of tasks.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the business, with a focus on mechanical maintenance for Garage and RPC 3 equipment.

Management & Relationships

• Oversee daily workshop activities and resource allocation (staff, tools, equipment).
• Engage effectively with stakeholders and clients.
• Prepare rosters and ensure adequate workforce coverage.
• Support recruitment of new or replacement team members.
• Mentor, coach, and train team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.

Skills and Experience

• Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Trade with a minimum of 3 years' experience in equipment maintenance and repair.
• Experienced with Earth Moving Equipment, Heavy Duty Diesel engines.
• Civil operating experience (inclusive of cranes and earthworks).
• Maintenance experience with strong problem solving and trouble shooting ability.
• Proven experience managing maintenance operations and teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• The ability to develop, mentor, and build capability within a workforce.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
• Problem- solving skills with a solution focused attitude.
• Well-developed communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven leadership and management skills with the ability foster team cohesiveness.
• The ability to build respectful and productive working relationships with a range of stakeholders in complex and challenging environments.
• Demonstrate a commitment to working with cultural diversity.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote location and adapt to a new cultural environment.
