This is a key role at Budgy Smuggler, and we're looking for someone who can own the bookkeeping function while keeping things running smoothly across our global financials. If you're a strong all-rounder with a love of detail (and maybe a fondness for swimwear), we'd love to hear from you.

Main Responsibilities:

Financial Record Keeping:

● Conduct daily banking activities, including the reconciliation of all bank transactions.

● Invoice orders accurately and maintain detailed records.

● Prepare and process batch payments for suppliers.

● Reconcile credit card transactions and ensure accuracy.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

● Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.

● Handle local and international payments securely.

Financial Reporting:

● Produce various financial reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis for all entities within the group.

● Good working knowledge of Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, Budgeting analysis.

● Execute end-of-month and end-of-quarter procedures, including IAS, BAS, NZ GST, UK & France Intercompany reporting.

Payroll, Stocktakes and Compliance:

● Prepare MYOB payroll, ensuring accurate payments and reporting for superannuation, payroll tax, PAYG and STP reporting.

● Conduct inventory stocktakes and update costing information for all locations.

● Perform asset stocktakes and maintain assets registers for all locations.

Specialised Duties:

● Calculate royalties and maintain contracts.

● Assist with financial accounts in the UK and France.

Communication and Collaboration:

● Liaise with creditors, debtors, Finance Director, consultants, other staff members local and overseas.

● Collaborate with various departments to gather financial information.

Facilities Coordination

● Assistance with facilities coordination at Budgy Smuggler properties including HQ & Retail Stores. This may include everything from helping with skip bins, cleanliness of properties, registration of vehicles to coordination of tradesmen to perform works and telecommunications help.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Must be experienced in MYOB Account Right and Xero.

  • Experience with Shopify

  • Good working knowledge of Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, Budgeting , journal entries.

  • Sound knowledge and proficiency in all aspects of bookkeeping / accounting procedures including a firm understanding of payroll, STP reporting, GST, IAS and BAS preparations

  • Experience with data entry, accounts payable and receivable functions including reconciliations,

  • Fundamental accounting knowledge of general ledgers, Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss

  • Proficiency in Excel and Word

  • High level of accuracy, organisational skills, time management and self-motivation
