What we are looking for:

We're seeking a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter with experience in fitting, welding, and machining to support the maintenance of Fraser Coast Regional Council's mechanical assets.

The ideal candidate will have experience in water and wastewater maintenance, a strong understanding of pumps, gearboxes, seals, and valves, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety are essential.

What your day will look like:

  • Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on Council assets

  • Record and report on asset condition and performance

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop resources

  • Assist with maintenance planning and procedure updates

  • Respond to urgent breakdowns as part of the on-call roster

  • Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders

  • Complete work orders, risk assessments, and reports
