YOUR ROLE

The Security Controls and Assurance Lead is part of the Cyber Security Team who ensure cyber security across MACS offices and schools. The team provides services in security assurance, security risk management and security incident detection and response. This role is designed to collaborate with the team to ensure the timely and effective delivery of security services to MACS offices and schools. Their primary responsibilities include analysing and communicating security information, assessing compliance, and managing risks.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Conduct risk assessments and identify potential compliance gaps.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Participate in assurance activities to evaluate compliance with regulations, policies, and standards.
• Provide recommendations for improving risk management processes.
• Govern the timely remediation of identified risks and issues.
• Maintain documentation related to governance, risk, and compliance activities.
• Assist in incident response and investigations related to security breaches or policy violations.

ABOUT YOU

• Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality.
• Experience working in an IT services environment with a focus on problem resolution
• High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in correlating data from multiple sources and searching for patterns and relationships
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure
• Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the capability to communicate effectively with schools and external stakeholders
• Experience as a member of a cyber incident response team
• Knowledge of cyber security frameworks such as NIST CSF and ACSC Essential Eight
