T his is an Aboriginal Designated Position, classified under 'special measures' of Section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. Only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply.

About the Role

This role ensures clients can access medical appointments, hospital visits, rehabilitation programs, specialist services, outreach clinics, community programs, and other health-related activities.

About You

To excel in this position, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• You are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
• Must have a full unconditional Victorian Driver's Licence and notify Rumbalara immediately of any changes to your right to use a motor vehicle or carry passengers.
• A current First Aid/CPR certificate or be willing to undertake the training at Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-operative Limited (RAC) expense.
• Maintain an up to date First Aid/CPR qualification.
• Applicants must be fully vaccinated and have received at least one booster dose as per Government Health Regulatory requirements.
• Safe driving in compliance with Victorian Road Rules and Legislation.
• Knowledge of the local area.
• Safe driving practices – strong awareness of road safety, defensive driving, and vehicle maintenance requirements.
• Communication skills – ability to interact respectfully and clearly with clients, families, and health staff.
• Time management – ability to manage schedules, coordinate multiple pickups/drop-offs, and ensure clients arrive on time to appointments.
• Basic health and safety awareness – knowledge of assisting clients with limited mobility, supporting people entering/exiting vehicles, and understanding emergency procedures.
• Record keeping and reporting – ability to maintain accurate transport logs, incident reports, and vehicle checklists.
• Ability to use a GPS system in order to locate health facilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
  Reliability and punctuality.
