Job Overview
We are looking for a
Access Consultant
to join our growing team across Australia and New Zealand. We are looking for someone who believes that access is for everyone and sees the opportunities to 'future proof' our environment, addressing our access needs as we age; whilst also providing accessibility advice which enables access for people with disability now.
Our projects are varied, are located across the country and include to support a variety of different projects across the country including large commercial buildings, airports, schools, transport infrastructure projects to name just a few. In this role you will have an exciting range of opportunities to develop your career within a supportive and diverse team which includes professionally skilled individuals; individuals who've taught others in nationally recognised qualifications; people with lived experience of disability, who walk the walk and talk the talk. You can expect in this role, to undertake a variety of tasks, including:
- Design and assessment of documentation/architectural drawings to areas of the projects to provide the best solutions for Access strategies.
- Liaise with clients and prepare written reports outlining recommendations for action, based on the principles of universal design, the objects of the DDA and the minimum compliance requirements of the National Construction Code/Building Code of Australia, according to our scope of engagement and compliance reports.
- Collaborate with clients to help their understanding of accessibility and the difference between 'compliance' and function, and upgrade their Access safety measures.
- Enjoy site visits to view progression and completion of the large projects.
- Collaborate with all our different service line teams to collaborate across a wide range of projects.
- Work along side Senior Mangers on larger complex projects
Requirements And Qualifications
- Must be an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident.
- Love to collaborate with colleagues, clients and other teams within the projects.
- Familiar with the construction industry.
- Be familiar with the Work Health and Safety requirements for the office and onsite.
- Personal drive, results-orientated with a friendly, can-do attitude and a high level of honesty, integrity, commitment and responsibility.
