Remuneration: Band 2 salary from $73,668.75 per annum plus superannuation and a fortnightly RDO

About the role

This role forms part of the Assets and Roads cleansing workforce carrying out allocated tasks to specified standards and schedules in order to meet agreed productivity and quality standards.

The successful candidate will be predominantly placed within the Garbage team, however at times will be required to assist in other cleansing teams.

The team is looking for an energetic person to assist in keeping Wyndham clean. Ideally, you are someone who enjoys working in growing community to keep Open Space reserves clean and tidy.

What your day will look like

  • Providing a rapid response service as required
  • Being responsible for the care of plant, tools and equipment, and to fulfill daily allocated tasks. Report any observed road maintenance issues (e.g. potholes, missing pit lids, apply absorbent to spills etc.)
  • Providing traffic control for other crews as required
  • Monitoring and reporting items of vehicular maintenance
  • Performing daily maintenance of vehicle and plant

What you will bring

  • Ability to plan and fulfill daily allocated tasks
  • A current Victorian Drivers licence including Truck licence (up to 13.9T)
  • Demonstrated competency in the use of small plant and truck mounted crane
  • Ability to understand and work to a schedule and plans
  • Experience in cleansing or other outdoor maintenance works
  • Demonstrated understanding of OH&S including manual handling and the need to ensure good posture and precautions when working
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
