LLM/ML/Data Science Engineer – Conversational AI

Sydney CBD | 6–12 Month Contract | Open Daily Rates

We're searching for a highly experienced LLM engineer to help lead a world-class AI program for one of Australia's largest and most iconic organisations. This is a rare chance to be the hands-on expert driving the build of an enterprise-scale LLM platform.

The Role

The organisation is embarking on one of Australia's most ambitious digital transformation programs. As part of their Conversational AI initiative, the focus is on building next-generation AI-driven customer engagement and operational intelligence – transforming how millions of people interact across contact centres and digital channels.

This role sits firmly on the engineering side, working alongside an AI Solution Architect to drive the design, build, and optimisation of large-scale LLM-based platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineer and deploy LLM/ML solutions into production
  • Configure and optimise AWS Bedrock for enterprise-scale use cases
  • Build and refine RAG pipelines and agentic workflows
  • Partner with architects, engineers, and data scientists
  • Deliver AI solutions with true end-user impact – employee assistance chatbots, real-time decision support, conversational AI – not just backend models or basic FAQ bots

About You

  • Strong background in Machine Learning, Data Science, or AI Engineering
  • Deep AWS expertise (Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, etc.)
  • Proficient in Python and modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face)
  • Familiarity with Terraform/DevOps tools for deployment at scale
  • Experience developing AI solutions that transform customer/employee experience
  • RAG experience required; agentic AI desirable
