Your role at St John of God Ballarat Hospital & Distribution Centre

You will perform the receipting and distribution of incoming goods at the Wendouree Distribution Centre including picking, packing and despatching of orders to internal SJGHC customers throughout the Eastern Region of Australia. Additionally you will provide Supply Services to the St John of God Ballarat Hospital including picking, packing and despatching of orders, servicing Imprest stores and the receipting and distribution of incoming goods to the wards and departments.

The Position

Wendouree Distribution Centre

• Acceptance and checking of goods received at the Wendouree Distribution Centre.
• Assist with the unloading of goods when required using appropriate materials handling aids/equipment - Forklift, Pallet Movers, Trolleys etc.
• Check incoming goods against the couriers/carriers running sheet or consignment notes for consignee details, quantity and condition of parcels.
• Ensure deliveries are correct relating to quantity, quality and specification, conforming to the details and conditions on the Purchase Order.
• Accurately receipting orders in the computerised supply system and processing/filing paperwork/documentation such as packing slip/invoices and receipt reports.
• Segregate direct supply items from inventory items for priority dispatch to the SJG Hospital Ballarat.
• Deliver goods received to the inventory locator within the Distribution Centre, unpacking, checking for accuracy before placing into the nominated location.
• Rotation of stock to ensure first in, first out (FIFO) (and/or nearest expiry date).
• Handle and store goods correctly to comply with clinical and infectious control standards

Ballarat Hospital

• Acceptance and checking of goods received at the Hospital Supply Store.
• Assist with the unloading of goods when required using appropriate materials handling aids/equipment - Electric/Manual Pallet Mover, Trolleys etc.
• Check incoming goods against the couriers/carriers running sheet or consignment notes for consignee details, quantity and condition of parcels.
• Distribution of direct supply goods to the wards & departments within the Hospital.
• Accurately receipting orders in the computerised supply system and processing/filing paperwork/documentation such as packing slip/invoices and receipt reports.
• Adherence at all times to the scanning and replenishment procedures.
• Ordering Imprest supplies for wards & departments within the SJG Hospital Ballarat campus using a scanning device to record required replenishment quantities.
• Deliver Imprest orders to the wards & departments within the SJG Hospital Ballarat campus to replenish imprest stock.
• Adherence at all times to the housekeeping and stock maintenance procedures.
• Maintain the store, receiving and despatch bays and other work areas in a clean, tidy & safe condition.
• Cleaning of vehicles, equipment, fixtures and shelving, floor areas, distribution tubs, trolleys and manual handling devices (ladders, steps etc.) as per cleaning schedules.
• Assist in ensuring correct display, storage and security of inventory.
• Physical counting and recording of stock as per the stock-take policy and procedure as directed.
• Backfill of Theatre Supply Officers as required

You will have demonstrated experience using computers for data entry with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure a quality service. To contribute to team success, you will be a team player and able to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers as well as take direction to achieve team goals.

To succeed you will possess LHRW (Forklift) a current Light Rigid Heavy Vehicle Drivers License, and a valid vehicle Drivers License. You will have basic computer skills and physical capability to perform all functions required by this position.

We can offer you

• Salary $60,173 to $61,903 per annum plus 12% Superannuation
• Permanent full time position working 76 hours per fortnight
• Working across two locations, the Wendouree Distribution Centre and the Ballarat Hospital
