As part of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Financial Officer is a pivotal position which will ensure the successful delivery of its strategic objectives. The mandate is to effectively support the Executive Team in growing and enhancing organisational performance, whilst ensuring the organisation remains profitable and sustainable. It will provide essential support in financial strategy, funding, cash flow and balance sheet management, business analysis, financial reporting, and decision-making support. 

This role will see you leading all financial and commercial aspects of the organisation's operations, such as financial strategy development, payroll, procurement and supply, budget preparation, financial and operational performance, financial controls and policies, management of cash flow and debt, revenue/cost initiatives and those relating to business development (including mergers and acquisitions), ensuring they meet and comply with all organisational and statutory requirements

The responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Developing and implementing financial plans and strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives. This includes overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to ensure that the company is on track to meet its financial targets

  • Financial Reporting: Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, including the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other financial information required by internal and external stakeholders

  • Treasury Management: Managing the company's cash flow and financial assets, including oversight of banking relationships, investments, and debt financing

  • Strategic Planning: Working with Team Leaders to develop and implement the company's overall strategic plan, ensuring that financial considerations are properly incorporated into all decision-making

  • Funding: Identify and lead any potential funding opportunities that strengthen Nexxis' position and capability to scale and expand into new markets

  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Investigate and lead any future acquisitions that align with the strategic vision of the company to accelerate further growth

  • Risk Management: Assessing and managing financial risks, including credit risk, market risk, and operational risk

  • Tax Planning and Compliance: Overseeing tax planning and compliance activities, ensuring that the company is in compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations

  • Team Management: Building and leading the finance professionals to ensure that the teams are operating efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA) with experience working as a Chief Financial Officer

  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to liaise, negotiate, consult with and influence senior stakeholders,

  • Exceptional leadership skills with proven experience developing people and taking the team on a journey with a supportive and nurturing leadership style to get the best out of each team member

  • Excellent financial acumen and accounting knowledge, with strong analytical skills

  • Ability to communicate complex financial information to a broad set of stakeholders

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
