We're a new vibrant venue focusing on high quality bakery goods, standout sandwiches, and a small curated savoury menu that highlights seasonal, thoughtful ingredients. With a strong emphasis on creativity and consistency, we're looking to expand our kitchen team with a talented and driven Sous Chef who shares our passion for great food.
The Role:
As Sous Chef, you'll work closely with our front-of-house team to deliver a small, high-quality savoury menu with a big focus on sandwiches. You'll play a key role in developing and executing fortnightly specials, contributing your ideas and skills to keep the offering fresh and exciting. This is an opportunity to work in a kitchen that values balance—between creativity and simplicity, quality and speed, autonomy and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Mainly day-to-day kitchen operations and maintain high standards of food quality and hygiene.
- Lead on sandwich prep and service—this is a key part of the venue's identity.
- Plan and execute fortnightly savoury specials, working with seasonal produce and emerging food trends.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
- Uphold kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards.
- Provide mentorship to junior staff and ensure a positive, professional kitchen culture.
About You:
- 2+ years kitchen experience, ideally in a café, deli, or bakery-adjacent venue.
- Strong skills in sandwich prep, hot and cold savoury dishes, and short-order cooking.
- Creative mindset with a keen interest in modern casual dining.
- Ability to work efficiently in a small team and stay calm during busy service.
- Food Safety Level 2 (minimum).

Pay: $61,740.51 – $87,953.33 per year
