About the role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at Water Street Child Care and Kindergarten in Cairns, Queensland. This role could be potentially full time or part time, flexibility with hours. A minimum of 18 hours per week. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality early childhood education and care to our students, helping them develop essential skills and a love of learning.

What you'll be doing
- Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate learning activities that align with the Early Years Learning Framework
- Observing and documenting children's progress, and using this information to tailor your teaching approach
- Fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports each child's social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Building strong relationships with children and their families, and communicating regularly about the child's progress
- Ensuring a safe and stimulating learning environment by maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and policies
- Participating in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and continuous improvement initiatives
- a strong commitment to child safe practices and adhering to child safe codes of conduct.
What we're looking for
- Formal qualification in Early Childhood Education, such as a Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience preferable but not necessary as an Early Childhood Teacher, preferably in a long day care or kindergarten setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Demonstrated understanding of the QKLG and ability to plan and deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences
- Commitment to continuously improving your practice and staying up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
- A current Working with Children Check and First Aid certificate
- Criminal History Check
