About the job:
Reporting to the editor, you will work as part of a small team of dedicated journalists covering news in the Adelaide Hills region. Under the direction of the editor, and in collaboration with other editorial staff, you will help keep the community informed about local matters ranging from council decisions and political news to community and human interest stories.

Develop and maintain networks within the local community to assist with news gathering
About you:
We're looking for an enthusiastic aspiring journalist with sound verbal and written communication skills, a firm grasp of English grammar, attention to detail, a strong work ethic and a high level of organisation who is passionate about story telling and news gathering.
You will be self-motivated, have proven time-management skills and an ability to meet tight deadlines while producing a high standard of work.
University qualifications in Journalism or Communications and/or relevant experience in the field will be looked upon favourably.

The Courier is an independently-owned newspaper that has been covering news across Mt Barker and the Adelaide Hills since 1880. As the sole newspaper dedicated to our area, we pride ourselves on delivering impartial, accurate news that is relevant to our community.
