WTP/STP Operator

Cloncurry Shire Council is looking for an experienced professional to join our Infrastructure & Environment team.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Water & Sewer Supervisor, you will be responsible for the efficient and reliable operation and maintenance of the water and sewerage treatment plants and associated infrastructure, including sites in Dajarra and Kajabbi.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain water and sewerage treatment plants, pumps, and equipment.
• Record and report on flow meters, electric meters, and daily testing
• Collect water and wastewater samples, calibrate dosing pumps, and adjust dosing rates.
• Monitor chemical usage and carry out stocktakes.
• Coordinate with contractors and support infrastructure maintenance
• Participate in weekend work as rostered.

What You'll Bring:

• Certificate III in Water Treatment Plant Operations (mandatory)
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• Current "C" Class driver's licence
• Construction White Card (or willing to obtain)
• Confined Spaces, Chlorine Safety, and Forklift certifications (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Certificate IV in Water Treatment Plant Operations (highly desirable).
