Mechanical Draftsperson or Engineer

Design and detail custom service truck bodies for hire or purchase. Support engineering team in vehicle modifications for mining/construction sectors. As part of our Engineering Design Team, contribute to the ongoing development, improvement, and support of the service truck line. This hands-on, varied role offers the chance to see designs from concept to completion in a team committed to excellence.

• Create 2D/3D CAD drawings (SolidWorks) for service modules, truck chassis and toolboxes.

• Ensure compliance with, ADR, NHVR and WA regulations.

• Collaborate with fabricators on prototypes and production.

• Revise designs based on client specs and site feedback.

• Manage drawing documentation and BOMs.

• Design, draft, and develop new service truck concepts and detailed engineering drawings.

• Apply FEA and engineering calculations to back up designs.

• Support sales team with cost estimates and proposals.

• Work alongside workshop team during service truck refurbishments, overhauls, and laser scanning projects.

• Investigate in-field product performance and identify improvement opportunities.

• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and internal processes.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and clients to deliver world-class solutions.

• Diploma/Bachelor in Mechanical Drafting or equivalent.

• Previous experience in vehicle body design.

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in vehicle body design or heavy vehicle modifications

• Proficiency in Solidworks software; knowledge of steel fabrication.
