Primary objective

Delivery of competency-based training and assessment of nationally accredited Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs in a

school environment including face to face delivery and ensuring national standards are maintained within the training centre environment.

Context statement

The Department of Education and Training (DET), works to expand regionalised provision of VET to secondary school students. This role

includes working with students from 14 years of age and supporting them to achieve post-school outcomes through effective and

compliant VET. Delivery to these cohorts includes contextualising training and resources and supporting students with reasonable

adjustments while operating within a trauma-informed framework.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Delivery of competency-based training and assessment to secondary students including face to face delivery within schools and

training centre environments in both an urban and remote context.

2. Complete all Registered Training Organisation (RTO) quality and compliance tasks in a timely manner including student pre-enrolment,

enrolment, learning plans, session overviews, course preparation, student records and reports and assessment delivery and

documentation.

  1. Develop and continuously review training and assessment tools and resources to support delivery of accredited competencies and

qualifications and participate in RTO validation processes.

  1. Develop and maintain industry, local and community relationships that inform training, assessment and effective delivery of VET

programs.

  1. Respond to student training and wellbeing requirements, including where necessary the use of reasonable adjustments that meet the

national standards.

  1. Attend professional development sessions to maintain current knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment,

including competency-based training and assessment and maintaining relevant industry skills.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) or a demonstrated willingness to complete the upgrade

within an agreed timeframe.

2. Demonstrated, relevant and current industry experience sufficient to deliver entry-level qualifications within the relevant industry

sector (Manufacturing, Agriculture, Tourism and Hospitality and Foundation Skills)

  1. Proven experience in developing and delivering accredited VET programs that engage and meet the training and wellbeing needs of

secondary school students.

4. Highly developed oral communication and consultation skills with the ability to modify approaches to suit diverse learners and

stakeholders across urban, regional and remote locations.

5. Ability to provide informed advice to, and partner with, schools and community stakeholders regarding the design, implementation,

and continuous improvement of nationally accredited VET programs within their specific industry area.

6. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and participation in industry engagement activities to ensure

compliance with national standards and maintenance of current industry knowledge and practice.

Desirable

1. Relevant Certificate III qualification (as a minimum) in Construction, Engineering, Conservation and Ecosystem Management, Maritime

or Agriculture.

Further information

This position requires working with children clearances, a national police check and registration with the Teacher Registration Board. Visits

to remote schools may necessitate travel by 4WD vehicle or in light aircraft and include overnight stays.
