The key duties of the position include:
We are seeking experienced Digital Forensic Officers to join our Cyber Operations branch.
As a Digital Forensics Officer, you will provide specialist digital forensic support to the organisation's compliance initiatives by acquiring, preserving, analysing, and reporting on digital evidence. This will involve preparing and presenting reports to clients and senior executives as well as attending court proceedings to provide expert testimony related to your findings.
In this role, you will manage a variety of tasks involving highly sensitive, confidential, and explicit material. You'll leverage relevant legislation, forensic tools and compliance frameworks to conduct advanced research relating to electronic investigation methodologies, and provide expert advice to resolve complex digital forensic issues.
You will supervise staff, help build capability, and mentor less experienced team members. You'll have the opportunity to grow your career in digital forensics by attending conferences to broaden your networks.
You will be required to attend field work at different locations across the country to assist in ATO investigations. This will require you to travel interstate, work overtime and potentially include overnight stay when travelling. In addition, you'll be required to work outside of the ordinary hours of duty on an ad hoc basis and attend regular mandatory counselling sessions as required.
We embrace the strength of diversity — through our people and the perspectives they bring. We are committed to inclusive recruitment practices and encourage applications from people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and individuals from all backgrounds. Reasonable adjustments can be provided throughout the recruitment process.
