Role Introduction

Cathay Pacific is looking for an Engineering Operational Support Officer role, based in Melbourne as part of the Engineering team.

This role is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to take on a key support role, responsible for delivering finance, logistics and administrative support across multiple airports within the region.

You will work closely with both regional and global Engineering team to drive operational consistency, enhance cost efficiencies and support day to day operations.

This will be a temporary part-time position (min. 20 hours a week) and will be placed until the end of 2025.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for regional Engineering offices, including inventory management, office maintenance, procurement, and travel administration
  • Work with finance team with financial processes such as invoicing, expense processing, month-end activities, and support cash flow and budget tracking.
  • Oversee operational compliance including permit applications, visitor pass management, sick leave records, training compliance, and regulatory renewals.
  • Support the Regional Head of Engineering with annual budget preparation and coordination with various ports.
  • Compile and produce monthly regional and ports performance reports and contribute to global Engineering communications through internal articles
  • Coordinate uniform orders, inventory control, and training logistics for regional Engineering employees
  • Be aware of and consistently follow daily routine works, the relevant local Health and Safety at Work Act, and the Airline's global and local Health and Safety policies to ensure compliance is maintained at all times.
  • Assist in planning and logistics for regional meetings, conferences, audits, and special events.

Requirements

  • Good analytical and numerical skills
  • Good computer literacy including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrable ability to work independently
  • Experience in being a committed and effective team player
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to express themselves clearly with good presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems
  • Highly flexible and spontaneous so as to meet the changing needs of the role and function
