Minikai Pty Ltd is building the AI agent workforce for the care sector. Our platform helps aged care and disability service providers reduce administrative burden by deploying AI agents ("Minis") that automate documentation, incident reporting, compliance audits, and other repetitive tasks. With an AI-first approach, we're rethinking how care teams interact with software, enabling automation while upholding the highest standards of usability, security, and accessibility. Seamlessly integrated with practice management systems, Minikai is already helping deliver safer, more responsive care to over 250,000 Australians.

We are seeking a full time, qualified Software Engineer (Frontend) to join our team in Melbourne.

Annual salary: $170,000 (plus super and bonuses)

Tasks and Responsibilities:

· Create responsive, accessible UIs using React ) and React Native by analysing user needs.

· Write and maintain code that meets system requirements and quality standards.

· Bring our AI agents ("Minis") to life by integrating generative UI features using the Vercel AI SDK.

· Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure AI functionality fits user workflows and technical specs.

· Develop chat, voice, and multimodal interactions with smooth real-time performance.

· Identify and fix technology limitations to improve reliability and responsiveness.

· Collaborate with design and product teams to create intuitive, inclusive experiences for aged care and disability workflows.

· Provide guidance to refine UI/UX based on system capabilities and user feedback.

· Optimise frontend performance, manage state effectively, and securely integrate with backend APIs.

· Write automated tests, debug code, and use analytics to support data-driven iterative improvements.

· Build, update, and maintain reusable components and technical documentation.

· Develop procedures to support scalable, maintainable frontend development.

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in ICT disciplines such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other relevant fields.

Required Experience:

· At least 1-2 years of experience as a Software Engineer

Ideal Candidate:

· Skilled in TypeScript, React, , React Native, and familiar with modern frontend tools like Tailwind CSS and Zustand or Recoil.

· Experience building AI or chat-driven UIs, or eagerness to learn AI APIs such as the Vercel AI SDK.

· Comfortable working with real-time technologies such as WebSockets or WebRTC.

· Experience in regulated sectors like healthcare or govtech is highly desirable.
