YMCA Outside School Hours Care provides fun, stimulating and safe care for primary and secondary school children before and after school. At OSHC, children have the opportunity to participate in cooking, sport, music, art, dance and so much more.

We are currently recruiting for OSHC Educators on a casual basis to join our YMCA Gainsborough Outside School Hours Care service.

About the service

YMCA Gainsborough Outside School Hours Care is located at Gainsborough State School in Pimpama. The service is licensed for 130 children and offer Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care between the hours of 6.30am and 6.00pm.

The service offers a wide range of fun, stimulating and appropriate programs that reflect real world experiences and home settings.  This helps encourage a sense of community amongst the children, facilitates leadership skill development and allows your child to practice social skills in a supported and caring environment.

The activities and plans are aligned with the YMCA Mission – to provide opportunities for children to grow in body, mind and spirit – underpinned by our values of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility.  We blend this philosophy with the National Quality Framework 'My Time Our Place' and Gainsborough State School's educational principles to develop appropriate, engaging and most of all FUN activities for your child whilst in our care.

About the role

As an OSHC Educator you are responsible for the care of children before school, after school and during school holiday periods. You'll assist in running fascinating, fun-filled and educational activities with primary school children, such as science experiments, outdoor games, painting and musical activities.

Am I a good match?

• You are currently studying or completed a Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor degree in the field of children's services or similar
• You have a fantastic sense of fun and a tremendous imagination
• You hold or be willing to obtain a current First Aid and CPR certification 
• You hold a Positive Notice Blue Card or be willing to obtain one
