Full-Time Experienced Barista – Melbourne CBD Café

We are seeking a passionate and skilled barista to join our team at a brand-new café opening in Melbourne CBD. We are set to open in late September or early October, and this is your chance to be part of the launch from day one.

About the Role

You will be responsible for preparing high-quality espresso and filter coffee, maintaining coffee equipment, and providing warm, professional customer service. Our ideal candidate is highly experienced in specialty coffee, can work efficiently during peak periods, and has a strong eye for detail in presentation and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve consistently excellent coffee to a high standard
  • Operate and maintain espresso machines and grinders
  • Ensure all coffee equipment is calibrated and maintained daily
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service
  • Work collaboratively with the front-of-house and kitchen teams
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the café and work areas
  • Assist in stock management and ordering for coffee-related items

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of barista experience in a fast-paced café environment
  • Strong knowledge of specialty coffee, brewing methods, and latte art
  • Ability to work quickly and calmly under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Availability to work weekdays and weekends as part of a rotating roster
