Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret technical drawings and plans to determine job requirements
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and weld metal sections using MIG, TIG, arc or oxy-acetylene methods
  • Fabricate and install structural steel components, frames, chutes, platforms and other metal assemblies
  • Carry out maintenance, modification and repair work on fixed plant and mobile equipment
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
  • Conduct quality checks and ensure all work meets relevant safety and industry standards
  • Work collaboratively within a site team and follow all company safety procedures
Skills and Experience
  • Trade qualification in Boilermaking / Metal Fabrication (Certificate III or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience in structural steel or heavy fabrication
  • Proficiency in welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) and metal cutting techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
  • Current driver's licence; HRWL, confined space or working at heights tickets (highly regarded)
