As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder to join our team.

Responsibilities:

Cut, shape, join and repair metal components of iron and steel structures, boilers, pressure vessels and pipes, ships and other vessels.

Duties:

  • Job Preparation and Planning: Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements. Select, clean, and prepare metal materials for fabrication.
  • Metal Cutting and Shaping: Cut metal components according to specifications using hand tools, flame cutters, and metal cutting machinery. Shape and bend metal parts and pipes using manual and mechanical tools, applying heat and hammering techniques when necessary.
  • Assembly and Alignment: Accurately align and position metal components using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Welding and Joining Techniques: Join metal sections through various welding techniques (MIG, TIG), as well as bolting and riveting.
  • Quality Control and Inspection: Inspect welds for proper width, penetration, and accuracy to ensure quality standards are met
  • Finishing and Surface Treatment: Complete fabricated products by cleaning, polishing, filing, and treating surfaces with acidic solutions. Smooth and refine welds using filing, chiselling, and grinding tools.

Qualifications:

  • AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training
  • AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Strong understanding of metalworking techniques, including the ability to interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work precisely and efficiently.
  • Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and quality in all aspects of work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in a demanding environment.
