Fitzroy Island is one of Tropical North Queensland's most iconic destinations, offering pristine beaches, stunning reef experiences, and accommodation just 45 minutes from Cairns. Our Cairns-based Booking Centre is the first point of contact for many of our guests, and we are looking for a friendly and professional Guest Service Agent to join our team.

Summary:

As a Guest Service Agent, you will be the first point of contact for customers enquiring about Fitzroy Island Day tours and accommodation. This admin-oriented role focuses on switchboard operations, customer service, and reservations, providing a seamless booking experience for guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate the main switchboard, responding promptly and professionally to phone and email enquiries
  • Provide information about hotel amenities, services, tours and attractions
  • Respond to guest inquiries and resolve any issues that may arise during their stay
  • Process payments and maintain accurate records of guest transactions
  • Process bookings for day tours, transfers, and accommodation using reservation systems.
  • Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, reporting, and documentation.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a reservations, admin, or front office role (tourism or hospitality preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and strong administrative and data entry skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and holidays
