The Executive Director of Catholic Education Western Australia Limited (CEWA) invites applications for the Principalship role at St Maria Goretti's Catholic School based in Redcliffe commencing Term 3, 2025 (or negotiable with the Executive Director).

School profile

St Maria Goretti's Catholic School is a vibrant, double-stream co-educational primary school with approximately 431 students, proudly serving the Redcliffe and Belmont communities for over 60 years. Catering for students from 4-Year-Old Kindergarten to Year 6, the school is founded on strong Catholic values and is committed to nurturing the spiritual, academic, and social growth of every child.

The school embraces inclusive and culturally responsive education, exemplified through the 'Moort Waabiny' Aboriginal Playgroup, supporting Indigenous children aged 0–4 and their families.

Following a major redevelopment, the school offers state-of-the-art facilities, including modern learning spaces, a nature playground, an undercover gymnasium, and exceptional assembly areas.

  • Demonstrates a strong and visible commitment to the Catholic faith, fostering a Christ-centred and child-focused school culture that integrates faith, life and culture.
  • Builds authentic connections with the Parish Priest and parish community, actively leading and encouraging participation in religious celebrations and staff formation opportunities.

Education

  • Leads contemporary, evidence-based learning with a deep understanding of high impact pedagogies, balancing student engagement with educational rigour.
  • Supports the diverse learning needs of all students, promoting spirituality, wellbeing, inclusion, and personalised learning approaches that cater for varied abilities and styles.

Community

  • Promotes an inclusive, multicultural environment that celebrates diversity in culture, religion, and family structures, ensuring every family feels welcomed and valued including for First Nations students, staff and families.
  • Fosters strong, collaborative relationships with all members of the school community including the P&F, School Board, parish, and local initiatives such as First Nations playgroups and the Fathering Project.

Stewardship

  • Models religious and ethical leadership with a strong sense of responsibility for sustainable resource management and the care of school assets.
  • Encourages a culture of giving and community partnership, engaging families, parish, and local networks to enhance the school's mission and strategic goals.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Practising Catholic and experienced educator committed to Catholic Education.
  • Accredited for Leadership of a Catholic School Community or equivalent.
  • A collaborative and future-focused leader who understands and supports the strategic priorities of the broader Catholic Education system.
  • A relevant Master's degree (or working towards completion) with the ability to apply advanced leadership and management principles to both the day-to-day and long-term leadership of a school is highly desirable.
  • Current Teachers Registration for Western Australia (TRBWA).
  • Current WA Working with Children Check (WA WWCC).
