Today, our team comprises twenty-six skilled consultants and software engineers. Our combination of expertise in quantitative consulting, and the ability to build custom software solutions allows us to provide short, medium, and long-term strategies for our clients.

THE ROLE

Energy is constantly evolving; new technologies are emerging, governments are designing policies and mechanisms to meet decarbonisation objectives and consumers, and their energy resources are having an increasingly prominent role.

Endgame is a leading consultancy in the industry with one of the most sophisticated market modelling capabilities. Through this expertise, we consult across a broad range of engagements and clients; from a successful subscription service of regular modelling updates, bespoke asset evaluations and large-scale system planning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will work within the Energy Market Modelling team, playing a key role in supporting the creation, analysis, and delivery of high-quality energy modelling to inform strategic decisions for our diverse client base. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing quantitative analyses, building models, assisting in developing and documenting approaches to solving problems, under the guidance of a senior team member.
  • Translating complex modelling outputs into actionable insights and clear visualisations for clients.
  • Supporting the development of presentations that showcase data insights and market trends, including customised solutions and analysis tailored to the specific needs of our clients.
  • Staying up to date with industry trends, methodologies, and data sources to enhance modelling techniques and ensure relevance and accuracy.
  • Providing support in client communications and relationship coordination.
  • Leveraging networking opportunities to understand client needs and gather feedback on market trends.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Energy Market Modelling and other teams to improve data models and integrate feedback from clients.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing processes, increase automation, and improve the quality and scalability of our modelling capabilities.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate must display the following skills and/or experience:

  • 0–2 years of professional experience in energy markets, trading, market analysis, or a related industry
  • Recently completed a tertiary degree in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or another highly quantitative field, such as Statistics or Computer Science.
  • Demonstrate strong quantitative skills and capable programming skills for data analysis and tool automation (e.g., Python, R).
  • Have a genuine interest in working on important projects that inform decision-making in the National Electricity Market (NEM) and other markets.
  • Efficient time management and prioritisation skills.
  • The ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Existing knowledge of Australian energy markets, power system operations, policy and regulation is advantageous.
