Ripley Valley State Secondary College is seeking a passionate and professional Vocational Trainer (006) to join our Health Academy Program.

In this role, you will plan and implement programs of instruction to help students develop the skills required to complete competencies in Certificate I, II, or III programs. You will also assist the Principal by building stakeholder relationships to develop and deliver authentic workplace learning opportunities and
provide career pathways for students.

About the Role

The Vocational Trainer role will require on site teaching over 3 days, with a 0.4 FTE allocation allowing flexibility for the applicant. The ideal applicant will have exceptional relational skills and experience in the Health Services Industry.

The role involves the delivery of Certificate II and III Health Services qualifications to Year 11 and 12 students.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:

  • In accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000  a person is prohibited from working in regulated child-related employment unless the person holds a current Working with Children  Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
  • Qualifications to the level, or above, being delivered.
  • Demonstrated relevant Industry experience and currency.
  • Qualifications to suit subjects and the level of course being offered.

Your Responsibilities

As the Vocational Trainer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Liaise and network with schools, industry and the general public to discuss matters associated with the provision of job opportunities for students.
  • Meet the reporting, attendance and behaviour requirements as stipulated by the School for the management of absenteeism, facilitating appropriate assessment processes to enable recording and tracking of competency completion and work placement progress to ensure all aspects of the training program are satisfactorily achieved for students and to ensure Registered Training Organisation (RTO) compliance.
  • Monitor the routine and non-routine maintenance of any equipment or appliances used in the delivery of the program, including the maintenance of systems relating to the management of consumable stock control.
