Residential Youth Worker

About the role:

MacKillop Family Services is seeking Residential Care Workers to join our East Metro Out of Home Care (OOHC) programs. Our programs provide support for young people with high and complex needs, as well as a therapeutically orientated program for young people in protective placements. Our Residential Services offer safe and supportive accommodation for children and young people referred through the Child Protection system.

As a Residential Care Worker, you'll:

• Provide day-to-day emotional and practical support to young people in care.
• Foster a safe, stable, and nurturing home environment.
• Engage in therapeutic care practices and support young people's development.
• Complete household and administrative duties as part of a collaborative team.

We have multiple opportunities available in the Eastern Region of Melbourne, VIC within our Out of Home Care program.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care or other similar or relevant tertiary qualifications.
• Are empathetic, resilient, and committed to the wellbeing of young people.
• Can set and maintain consistent boundaries in a trauma-informed way.
• Highly developed capacity for emotional self-regulation including the capacity to set and maintain consistent boundaries to provide safety, stability and consistency.
