Job Description
naAs a paralegal, you will play a vital role in ensuring OMIG's legal operations run smoothly while supporting our customer due diligence efforts to mitigate financial crime risk. You will support the legal team with document management, legal research, and FICA (Financial Intelligence Centre Act) compliance processes, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders.This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive professional with strong legal and administrative expertise, eager to grow in a dynamic investment management environment.
What You'll Be Trusted With
- Drafting, formatting, redlining, and filing legal documents, contracts, and resolutions.
- Supporting transaction processes, including archiving, metadata tagging, and preparing closing bibles.
- Conducting comprehensive legal research on asset management regulation, case law, and compliance issues.
- Monitoring regulatory developments, directives, and board notices affecting the business.
- Preparing FICA-compliant onboarding packs and maintaining accurate client files.
- Conducting initial PEP and sanctions screenings and escalating high-risk issues.
- Maintaining e-filing systems and streamlining workflows with Microsoft 365 tools.
- Supporting meeting logistics, minutes, travel coordination, and other team requirements.
Who You Are
You are a highly organised and detail-driven professional who thrives under pressure and has a passion for legal operations and compliance. You bring:
- A qualification in paralegal studies, legal office administration, legal secretarial studies, or equivalent legal support qualification.
- 4–6 years' experience in financial services, a corporate legal team, or law firm.
- At least 2 years in a paralegal, legal secretary, or legal administrator capacity.
- Familiarity with FICA and client onboarding processes is advantageous.

- Excellent knowledge of legal terminology, file management, and document formatting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines.
- Professional discretion and commitment to confidentiality.
- Ownership and accountability in seeing matters through to completion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
