Your role at St John of God Warrnambool Hospital
To ensure effective cleaning, decontamination, packing and sterilising of items for reprocessing in accordance with AS 4187. To utilise equipment associated with the above appropriately in accordance with AS 4187.
The Position
- Co-operates in data collection of hospital-wide Quality Activity projects and Clinical Indicators.
- Ensures that the need of the customer, both internal and external, receives the highest priority and that the objective is to exceed the customer's expectations.
- Maintain effective work practice in regard to manual and mechanical washing, lubrication, drying, packaging and sterilising.
- Develop a sound working knowledge of all instrumentation requiring reprocessing.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of sterile supplies.
- Ensure appropriate storage and handling of non-sterile and sterile stock.
You will have understanding of Infection Control Standards .To be successful, you will be customer focused with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, planning and organisational skills and analytical and team work skills. Experience in the Health Care industry, preferably within a hospital setting, or Certificate III in Sterilisation Services, is highly regarded.
