Title: Assistant Venue Manager

Golden Fleece Hotel, an enchanting oasis in the heart of South Melbourne, where the spirit of Santorini comes to life We're a Greek-inspired venue seeking a dedicated Assistant Venue Manager to oversee and enhance operations. Our two level venue offers restaurant service, functions and events. Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster fun, inclusivity, community, creativity and authenticity
  • Maintain high levels of customer service. Monitor and report on customer experiences for continuous improvement
  • Train and develop staff by coordinating with external stakeholders for product & service training
  • Complete management checklists to ensure operational efficiency
  • Ensure food & beverage quality control measures are consistently upheld and work with the Head Chef on improvement action plans
  • Manage systems & manuals to standardize operations
  • Oversee venue maintenance management and budgeting
  • Report directly to Directors on venue performance
  • Maintain liquor licenses, planning permits, and all compliance documents
  • Oversee venue aesthetics and ensure an inviting atmosphere inspired by Greek hospitality
  • Maintain, update, and ensure compliance with cleaning, opening, and closing checklists
  • Supervise managers and supervisors to uphold responsibilities and measure performance
  • Conduct staff performance reviews and final weekly sales spreadsheet checks (wages, cash, invoices, and costs)
  • Develop strategies to maximize revenue, spend per head, and overall profitability
  • Generate sales leads and contribute to the sales system
  • Maintain strong communication with the kitchen and marketing departments
  • Take lead of Lightspeed and MeandU, including new item entry, menu design and reporting
  • Write rosters 2 weeks in advance, taking into account all requested leave, labor budgets and nightly bookings
  • Build rapport with suppliers
  • Ensure effective staff management, including recruitment, job postings, interviews, and selection
