Position Highlights
St Mary's Cathedral College Sydney is seeking to appoint an experienced and passionate Instructional Leader: Numeracy K-4. This is a full-time, ongoing position, commencing Term 1,
Major Accountabilities:
The Instructional Leader is required to perform tasks that include but are not limited to:
- supporting the leadership of a school-wide culture of excellence, informed decision-making, and collaborative practice
- working with the leadership team and other stakeholders in implementing a range of improvement strategies to ensure effective strategic change
- actively promoting the integration of Catholic values and Catholic Social Teaching across the curriculum
- ensuring consistency of teaching practice and shared teacher judgement drives assessment
- demonstrating exemplary classroom teaching practice in their curriculum speciality
- cultivating a contemporary and effective learning culture
- developing and implementing effective and evidence-based professional learning to build the capacity of teachers
- ensuring evaluation of teaching and teachers' goal setting related to performance and monitoring performance goal achievement
- leading and collaborating within a culture of ongoing growth and improvement
- demonstrating organisational, management and leadership skills
- analysing data and trends within the school to identify areas for growth
- actively promoting the relationship between student wellbeing and learning growth
- contributing to a 'network approach' that promotes the reciprocal benefits of school system
- ensuring all work activities align with SCS' vision, mission, values and Capability Framework
- reporting all concerns regarding child safety and allegations of inappropriate conduct to the line manager and the SCS Child Safety team. SCS is a child-safe environment and all concerns regarding child safety and allegations of inappropriate conduct will be treated seriously
- promoting and implementing Sydney Catholic Schools' mission and vision To know and love Christ through learning and Thriving Catholic communities through excellent teaching and learning
- promoting and abiding by Sydney Catholic Schools' values of empathy, curiosity, excellence, collaboration and truth
- any other duties as directed from time to time.
Key Duties:
In this position, your primary duties will include:
- demonstrating and leading exemplary, innovative and evidence-based real-world learning practice in selecting, organising and evaluating the content, and delivering learning and teaching programs in the curriculum specialty
- tracking student performance within the faculty and ensuring that effective assessment, responsiveness to data, timely feedback and differentiation are embedded within teaching programs and practices
- coordinating administrative and governance processes related to curriculum and assessment
- developing and facilitating effective and evidence-based professional learning and dialogue to build the capacity of teachers
- monitoring teachers' goal setting related to performance and evaluating the achievement of set goals
- collaborating with and contributing to the Gifted Education Team.

You will have attained:
- a tertiary qualification in Education
- eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
