About the Role

Join us as an Operating Supervisor, where you'll play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our Anode facility. This leadership position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about driving operational excellence and team development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate production schedules and manage competing priorities to meet business objectives.

• Lead and support crews in production, maintenance, quality, safety, and performance.

• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Facilitate crew development through coaching, training, and performance feedback.

• Conduct regular forums to share information and assess team progress.

• Provide technical leadership, root cause analysis, and process control oversight.

• Ensure compliance with customer and supplier standards and maintain quality systems.

• Experience in working within a production environment where you have gained a comprehensive knowledge of process/production operational activities.

About the Location

Our Portland Smelter is a joint venture between Alcoa of Australia (55%), CITIC (22.5%) and Marubeni Aluminium Australia (22.5%). Alcoa manages the day-to-day operations at the smelter and we produce approximately 19 per cent of Australia's total aluminium production in Portland.  We are proud of the long-standing relationships we have within our local community and are committed to supporting social and diverse causes.
