About the opportunity:
The Permits Coordinator reports to the Operations Manager and is part of our Operations team. In this highly rewarding role, your focus will be to prepare documentation and liaise with the relevant engaged Building Surveyor and council to arrange the prompt lodgement of plans and necessary building approvals to enable the construction to commence in a timely manner. More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and Coordinate end to end building approval applications, including submission to Building Surveyor as well as covenant approval applications with developers.
- Proactively liaise with authorities and external professionals to obtain and follow up on required development applications and obtain estimated dates of approval
- Collaborate with the Project Delivery Coordinators and Drafting teams to ensure all approved changes are captured in plans and signed by the customers
- Submit required documentations, prepare management reports and keep accurate forecast dates and permit up to date
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, purchase and maintaining information in Business craft and shared drives
About you:
You will share a passion for our purpose and be aligned to our core values; better together, be accountable, people matter and think bigger. In addition, you will:
- Previous experience as a Permit Coordinator in Residential Construction
- Strong administration experience, managing high volume work in a fast paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work under pressure successfully managing multiple clients and prioritising effectively
- Sound knowledge in computer and Microsoft office skills
- Ideally some knowledge of the residential construction industry (building your own home or property management), building materials and supply and co-ordinating trades
