Melbourne CBD or Dandenong | Full-time or Part-time | $180K - $230K
The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Special Counsel to join our Commercial Litigation practice in either our Melbourne CBD or Dandenong office. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in leading and supervising junior solicitors and legal teams, and in managing/overseeing a diverse caseload of commercial law matters in the following areas:
- Business Law
– Sales, purchases, and structuring.
- Contract Law
– Drafting, negotiating, and enforcement.
- Corporate Law
– Formation, governance, M&A, shareholder agreements, and insolvency.
- Commercial Litigation
– Contract, franchising, debt, shareholder, and professional disputes.
- Civil Litigation
– Debt enforcement, bankruptcy, and statutory demands.
- Real Estate Law
– Transactions, leases, and disputes.
- Commercial Leasing
– Lease negotiation and drafting.
What We're Looking For
- Qualifications:
LLB or JD, Victorian PC and admission to the SCV & HCA
- Skills:
Strong drafting, litigation, negotiation, and advocacy abilities, plus experience mentoring/supervising juniors and overseeing legal teams
- Traits:
A strong and pro-active leader who is assertive, confident, approachable, knowledgeable, self-motivated and detail-oriented
