Search Light Early Learning Centre is a small, community-based, not-for-profit service located in Sunnybank. We specialise in delivering high-quality early education and wraparound support to young families who benefit from a more flexible, affordable, and compassionate approach.

Licensed for just 19 places, our centre offers a rare chance to build deep connections with children, families, and colleagues. We pride ourselves on creating a safe, inclusive space where children feel secure and supported—and where educators are genuinely valued, nurtured, and empowered.

Co-located at an independent all-girls school in Brisbane, we support both students who are young parents and other families in the community who need a little extra care. We're managed by a volunteer committee and funded by the Australian Government.

About the role:

  • Casual position, 4 days per week during school terms
  • Perfect for educators who prefer school holidays off
  • Work closely with a small, passionate team
  • Help deliver targeted programs that make a real difference
  • Remuneration and entitlements as per the Children's Services Award, dependent on qualifications and experience (up to level 3.3)

About you:

  • You're a qualified Early Childhood Educator (Cert III or Diploma)
  • You bring warmth, initiative, and compassion to your practice
  • You thrive in small teams and value deep relationships with families
  • You're flexible, reliable, and committed to inclusive, high-quality care
  • Experience supporting young parents or vulnerable families is a bonus
  • Current Working with Children's Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificates
