About Us

Matso's has always been a little different, but we're proud of that. Sometimes our remoteness has forced our hand, other times the heat has driven us to think differently about flavour and refreshment. From tropical places, with tropical heat, it takes a lot of Australian character and a great sense of humour to thrive.

Starting life as Australia's most remote brewery at our spiritual home in Broome WA, Matso's is now enjoyed at pubs, bars and backyards right across the country. In late December 2023 we launched Matso's on the other side of the country in Eumundi on the beautiful and laid back Sunshine Coast.

Inspired by our original, our second home taps into the heritage of an old Queensland pub with a newly renovated building in the back, bringing a large indoor and outdoor made for the family or for a late arvo Ginger Beer on ice.

Roles and Responsibilities

Venue:

  • Running food and clearing tables

  • Serve drinks

  • Keeping the back of house orderly and keep on top of glassware

  • Keep your area clean and tidy and always look at the venue through the lens of a customer.

  • Able to operate H&L and tyro

  • Troubleshoot problems with ordering and escalate issues to your supervisor.

  • Able to seat groups as per the booking schedule for the day.

  • Restock bars as needed throughout your shift.

  • Drive down wastage and errors through clear communication with patrons, feedback to the kitchen and efficient running of the pass.

  • Able to recommend products or menu items to customer preference

Gaming

  • Balance the requirements of people using Keno and TAB with the overall ambience of the venue. Escalate any issues to your manager if you are unsure of music and TV requirements.

  • Uphold the requirements of RSG.

  • Large bets and payouts must be recorded and co-signed.

  • Manage till balances and work with your manager to ensure you have the right floats to service the day.

  • Assist customer with the self-serve terminals if they are having difficulties using the machines. Also support the manual ticket system and Keno for any customer new or having difficulties.

  • Troubleshoot machine issues with the support numbers for TAB and Keno.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Beverage knowledge focusing on beer, wine, spirits, cocktails

  • Basic food knowledge and cooking/preparation techniques

  • RSA compliance

  • Can operate POS, booking software and QR ordering system

  • Able to make and execute drinks to a standard

Experience

  • Broad industry experience.

  • All day food offering venues
