We are seeking a motivated Site Engineer to join a leading infrastructure team and support the delivery of mechanical and structural works across key projects. In this role, you'll work directly with site leadership and project teams to ensure works are executed safely, on schedule, and to specification. This position is suited to someone with strong technical ability, hands-on site experience, and confidence working with subcontractors in a busy construction environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Reviewing shop and construction drawings to confirm materials and components are procured and ready for installation
  • Inspecting fabricated and delivered items to verify compliance with quality and dimensional standards
  • Assisting with short-term planning, scheduling resources, and coordinating daily site activities
  • Preparing and updating daily progress reports within the project management system
  • Developing and monitoring short-term lookahead programs to track installation progress against schedule
  • Raising site issues, clashes, or design queries with project management for resolution
  • Supervising subcontractors, reviewing ITPs, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality procedures
  • Assessing subcontractor claims before submission for approval
  • Managing day works, installation records, and project documentation as required
  • Providing technical guidance and problem-solving support to site teams, engaging with internal designers and suppliers as needed
  • Supporting stakeholder communication and site coordination in collaboration with project managers

What we're looking for:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering
  • White Card (mandatory)
  • At least 3 years of practical, site-based construction experience involving structural frames, covers, or mechanical installations
  • Familiarity with site documentation, QA/QC processes, ITPs, and safety compliance requirements
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret mechanical/structural drawings
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and planning skills
  • A proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment
