What you'll be doing

As a Pharmacy Technician in Cancer Services, you'll play a vital role in ensuring patients receive safe, accurate, and timely medications.

  • Dispense and distribute medications in line with hospital policies and legislation
  • Prepare sterile and non-sterile products according to master formulations
  • Support pharmaceutical production and quality assurance programs
  • Maintain compliance with safety and infection control standards
  • Participate in performance development and continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications: Applicants without a nationally recognised pharmacy qualification will be classified as Pharmacy Assistant Grade 1.

    Pharmacy Assistant Grade 2 - Certificate II or III in Community Pharmacy provided by Pharmacy Guild/PSA.

    Pharmacy Technician Grade 1 – Certificate III in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support.

    Pharmacy Technician Grade 2 - Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated good communication skills.
  • Demonstrated satisfactory pharmacy dispensing experience in Australia (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise large workload and have good time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Willing and able to participate in sterile (including cytotoxic) manufacturing.
  • Must be willing and able to work late shifts and overtime on weekends as required.
