About us

A growing business , PEX Plumbing and Draining is based in the Merimbula. Our principal operator, worked in the Bega Valley for over 30 years, but this is a relatively young company, only operating for the last 2 and a half years.

We have some established clientele with ongoing business. We specialise in drainage, but do all aspects of general plumbing, including excavation work. Most of our work is new commercial or residential work.

About the Role

We currently have a vacancy for a driven and enthusiastic Apprentice Plumber to join our team. Initially the role will begin as a Labourer, until Christmas and commence the apprenticeship at the beginning of 2026.

This is a full-time position that offers hands-on training and the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals in the plumbing industry.

Your daily duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Assisting qualified plumbers with the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems
  • Developing plumbing skills, including pipe fitting, fixture installation, and basic troubleshooting
  • General plumbing, including drainage work (sewer and stormwater), water hydraulic work, rough in and fit off work including gas work.
  • Completing tasks and projects as assigned by senior plumbers
  • Maintaining a clean and organised work environment
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures

About You

Along with a strong work ethic and passion for learning you'll have/be:

  • At least 16 years of age to be eligible for this apprenticeship position.
  • Some trades experience is preferred but not essential for this position.
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Your own vehicle and excavator experience are not essential but would be highly regarded
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour
  • Willingness to take direction from experienced plumbers
  • Valid drivers licence is essential
