About the team and role

As a UX/UI Lead at #TeamMB, you'll shape the future of legal service experiences through The Foundry - Maurice Blackburn's dedicated innovation division.

Maurice Blackburn has a bold ambition to redefine the way legal services are delivered in Australia, reimagining what justice means in a modern, digital and inclusive society. To deliver on this ambition, we established The Foundry to drive transformation through new business models, new partnerships and new capabilities.

In this role, you'll be responsible for designing exceptional user experiences across all products and services that originate from The Foundry. You'll work at the intersection of design, technology, and human needs, creating intuitive, accessible experiences that extend access to justice for everyday Australians. From rapid prototyping and user testing to launching scaled digital products, you'll champion human-centered design while exploring how AI and emerging technologies can transform professional services.

The experience we are looking for

• Digital Product Design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX/UI design work
• AI Integration passion and curiosity about how AI is transforming customer experiences in professional services
• Rapid Prototyping ability to quickly build, test, and iterate prototypes with real users
• User Research experience conducting user interviews, usability testing, and translating insights into design decisions
• Design Tools proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design and prototyping tools
• Hands-on Development comfortable working with developers and contributing to product development processes
• Agile Methodologies experience working in agile/lean environments with iterative design approaches
• Experiment mindset, ability to differentiate between when perfection is required vs. rapid learnings
• Design Systems experience creating or contributing to design systems and component libraries
• Cross-functional Collaboration ability to work effectively with product managers, developers, and business stakeholders
• User-Centred Mindset obsession with understanding user needs and solving real problems
• Communication Skills ability to articulate design decisions and present concepts to diverse audiences
• Portfolio Required demonstrating successful digital product launches and UX/UI outcomes
• Experience in B2C digital products with high user volumes preferred
• Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
• Familiarity with low-code/no-code platforms and AI-powered design tools beneficial
• Experience in professional services, legal tech, or fintech advantageous but not essential
• Bachelor's degree in design, HCI, or related field preferred, or equivalent portfolio and experience
• Entrepreneurial spirit and alignment with Maurice Blackburn's purpose to extend access to justice
