Position Purpuse:

To support the logistics and stores operations by assisting in the receipt, handling, storage, and dispatch of materials and equipment used in gas exploration and production activities. This role is designed as a structured traineeship to develop competencies aligned with industry standards and company operational requirements.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Receiving and Dispatching Goods: Unload, check, and record incoming deliveries; verify items against orders; prepare, load and dispatch materials as per operational schedules; and accurately record inventory movements using warehouse management systems.
  • Inventory Management: Support stock takes, organise and maintain storage areas, and ensure inventory control through diligent data entry, reconciliation, and variance reporting. Pick, sort, and track materials for work orders, general consumables, and projects. Transfer materials between sites and suppliers as required.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records, including delivery dockets, manifests, and inventory logs. Complete and support procurement and logistics documentation processes in line with company policies and quality standards.
  • Safety and Regulatory Adherence: Strictly follow Denison's policies and procedures including the Health and Safety policy and Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) relevant to warehousing and working on site. Participate in site-specific inductions, mandatory safety training, and comply with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL).
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (subject to certification and completion of Verification of Competency assessments).
  • General Support: Maintain a clean and organised storage facility. Provide assistance to Stores and Purchasing and administrative teams as required.

Training & Development:

  • Completion of a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) prior to mobilisation.
  • Enrolment in a nationally recognised Certificate III in Warehousing Operations or equivalent.
  • Access to internal training via Employment Hero Go1 LMS.
  • Structured learning lifecycle including onboarding, internal/external training, and upskilling pathways.

Career Pathways:

  • Successful completion of the traineeship may lead to permanent placement in logistics, procurement, or field operations roles.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Industry Safety Induction.
  • White Card (Construction Induction).
  • Forklift Licence (HRW LF), or willingness to obtain.
  • Manual driver's licence advantageous; willingness to obtain if not already held.

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in warehouse, stores, or inventory management roles is desirable but not essential.
  • Familiarity with remote or field-based work environments is an asset.

Skills

  • Basic computer literacy, particularly with inventory and stock management systems.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment, or willingness to undertake training.
  • Strong attention to detail in all tasks, especially inventory recording and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Competencies

  • Commitment to safety protocols and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, including proper use of PPE and hazard identification.
  • Resilience and adaptability to perform repetitive tasks and work in remote or changing operational environments.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for supporting team operations and liaising with other departments.

Health Safety and Environment (HSE) / Injury Management (IM) Responsibilities

The job holder will comply with all relevant Occupational, Health, Safety and Environmental and Injury Management/Workers Compensation Legislation, codes of practice, standards, policies, operating procedures and work instructions and systems.
